A few notes of interest from the seller ....
* The cedar logs used for construction were mined during the winter in northern Minnesota.
This is common, as cedar often grows in marshy areas, and the cedar is easier to mine on
frozen ground.
* All logs, trim, tongue & groove (inside and out) are made of white cedar. "I don't know of a log
home anywhere where this is true" stated by seller, Frank F. August 31, 2011. White cedar has
the highest R value of all woods used in home construction. "The home is incredibly quiet from
outside noises" says Frank F.
* The entire interior of the home has been sanded and finished with 4-10 coats of finish. The upper
two levels are coated with non-yellowing polyurethane. The lower level with an oil based
polyurethane.
* The home uses a heat pump for heating and cooling. The well water is the source for heating
and cooling, so energy costs are remarkably low.
* The heavy steel roof is unique in it's strength, durability and design. "I don't know of a home
using the same material" says Frank. It's experienced heavy hailstorms without denting".
* The home has a holding tank, but perked for a conventional system.
